Early tomatoes. I know part of it is the hot dry weather but I also swear by the walls of water that I laid out. I love them!
I’m just going to mention one more time how large and lush my tomato plants are!
raspberry plants – season 2 in our garden. We started with 3 and through some careful maneuvering we have 6 this year.
Tomatillos. These have been fun to watch grow. They are like little aliens.
Beets. W have 3 little patches of beets because they are E’s favorite. Yum.
Specialty pumpkins. I can’t wait to see them once they’re full grown.
Only part of our onion harvest. This is the bowl we gave away.
Some of the pumpkins we have trained to grow ON the fence.
First tomato harvest
Potatoes in a pot.
Our sad looking squash plants…
Our strawberries are putting out runners like crazy. Many may have died in the heat wave but the news that survived are going to fill in the gaps!
Harvest of onions, carrots and beets eaten as an appetizer with hummus. Yum.
Zucchini salad with mint and feta. Recipe coming.
The biggest thing that hits me when I look at all these pictures is – Wow! I started most everything from seed without any special equipment. I bought one of my 7 tomato plants, the seed potatoes, the strawberry plants, the rhubarb, and the onion sets. Everything else I started from seed. Pumpkins, tomatoes, red onions, leeks, jalapeños, beets, lettuce, etc. I hope to do EVERYTHING from seed next year. We’ll see if that happens!
